Care and Maintenance
• All accessories which are critical for the safety of the system must be checked carefully before
every use. Milestone local representative will support your requirements.
• Service and maintenance operations are mandatory. They are described in detail in this manual.
The intervals may differ according to frequency of use and under extremely aggressive conditions
(chemical reagents, temperature).
• The non-observance of service and maintenance regulations will void warranty.
• Dirt, impurities and contamination on the outside of the unit can be removed with a wet cloth
and a soft detergent.
• The life of the unit, particularly of the electrical and electronic parts, is mainly depending on the
environmental conditions. The unit should not be installed under hood, but in a well-ventilated
room, free from acid vapours and corrosive atmosphere. Although the housing is all stainless
steel made and the critical parts are also coated, components like plugs, electronic boards, etc.
can be damaged by corrosion. These parts cannot be manufactured in more resistant materials.
All damages to electrical and electronic parts caused by corrosion are not covered by warranty.
Therefore, always carefully follow the instructions and limitations for use described in this
manual.
• All components which are in direct contact with chemicals, samples, sample vessels, etc. must
be handled with the utmost care, i.e. the parts must be wiped clean from chemical
residues/traces and dried before use. A thin layer of grease or oil should be laid daily) particularly
inside the metal reactor, clamps and cover (only on metal parts).
• Dust in the laboratory atmosphere leads very frequently to deposits within the ventilation area
(air inlet and exhaust, etc.) and must be removed, to prevent overheating and/or damages
(danger of clogging of the air inlet and outlet).
• Check that the exhaust tube is regularly inserted into its opening. Verify the cleaning of the tube
and check the fume hood aspiration.
