Setup of the High-pressure compressor
Open and set the Pressure regulator of Nitrogen and Argon gas line at 5-6 bar
Switch on the compressor
Check that no gas leakage occurs between gas cylinder and valve. This to prevent waste of
gas.
In some cases it is possible that the compressor charges a 5 10 bars in excess of the set pressure (e.g.
instead of 40 bar, loads 45 bar) this is normal and no adjustments on compressor are necessary.
After the run and pressure release, the compressor, purges some gas from cylinder (12 - 15 seconds) to
remove residual fumes from the reactor.
Do not start the pressure load in the reactor if the cylinder is closed. This would block the
compressor power.
To unlock it, just turn on the main power switch again.
The compressor has a sucking capacity of 105 Litre/min. The nitrogen/argon line must
guarantee this capacity.
Compressor can only be operated with nitrogen or argon. It’s not allowed to use air or other
gases as pre-loading gas.
The compressor function must be set in the software. To do this, you need to contact your
Milestone service engineer
Employment of a longer supply line
If the compressor or booster or the gas bottle are located far from the ultraWAVE 3, it is possible to have
a longer high-pressure hose.
Contact the local Service engineer for details about this option.
