8 ULTRAWAVE 3 OPERATION
The whole operating sequence for performing a digestion run with ultraWAVE 3 is shown in the chapters
below.
For the first use of your ultraWAVE 3 system, it is recommended to request a training from a
Milestone service or application specialist.
Sample handling and weighing
Several vials of different materials (Quartz, glass and PTFE) and volumes (6 – 70 ml) are provided by
Milestone. These are completed with sample holder and rack, here a short introduction on how to work
with unit.
The available rack configurations are:

To avoid any sample mix-up, the sample holder with
the sample vessels is placed into the appropriate
bottom plate with position numbering.
A centring plug prevents any wrong positioning on
the bottom plate.
Each sample vessel therefore is assigned to a
specific number.
