6 PRESSURE LINE INSTALLATION
Connection of ultraWAVE 3 to the Nitrogen or Argon gas line
ultraWAVE 3 requires a pressure line in order to preload the reactor with Nitrogen or Argon before the
microwave digestion program.
The initial pressure to be loaded into the ultraWAVE 3 reactor is 40 bar, therefore it is necessary to have
an inlet pressure of at least 50 bar.
Depending on the needs of the laboratory, Milestone provides different options for connecting and
loading the gas into the ultraWAVE 3 reactor:
Direct connection to the gas cylinder
Pneumatic booster
High pressure compressor
Direct connection to the gas cylinder
Direct connection to the gas cylinder (manual loading)

For gas loading, the appropriate safety rules must be strictly followed (for any questions please
contact the gas supplier).
To connect the Nitrogen or Argon cylinder directly to the unit, prepare the following items:
A suitable high-pressure regulator (this is not included with ultraWAVE 3. See the pre-installation
file for more details about the high-pressure regulator to use)
Filter connection (P/N 65793)
Filter (P/N CLAR0635A)
