J Communications Based on Modbus Protocol
186
J.2 Setting
After the CSD-709 is connected to the RS-232C or RS-422/485 card, you can establish
communications using the Modbus protocol. The table below shows the functions used for
communications based on the Modbus protocol.
Item Function Setting
Operating modes F-45 3 (Modbus)
Output target F-46
0 (Display interlock), 1 (Track), 2 (Peak),
3 (Combination of load display and status)
Communication
settings
F-47 Set with a five-digit numerical value.
Digit Details
First digit Set the data bit length using 0 (7 bit) or 1 (8 bit).
Second digit
Set the parity bit using 0 (No parity),
1 (Even parity), or 2 (Odd parity).
Third digit Set the stop bit using 0 (1 bit) or 1 (2 bit).
Fourth digit
Set the baud rate using 0 (1 200 bps),
1 (2 400 bps), 2 (4 800 bps), 3 (9 600 bps),
4 (19 200 bps), 5 (38 400 bps), 6 (57 600 bps), or
7 (115 200 bps).
Fifth digit Set the terminator using 0 (CR) or 1 (CR+LF).

Any of the following values is determined as the silent interval of the Modbus protocol, depending on
the baud rate set to function F-47 (communication settings).
Baud rate (bps) Silent interval (ms)
1 200 35.00
2 400 17.50
4 800 8.75
9 600 4.50
19 200 2.25
38 400 1.25
57 600 0.75
115 200 0.50
