5.2 Detection with multimode
The CSD-709 can combine detecting sections and detecting operations, all of which are identified by
eight detecting condition numbers, in order to obtain an arbitrary detection result from the track
changing with the elapse of time. Up to four combinations are achievable. In the multimode where
multiple detecting conditions are combined in such the manner, the following preparation is needed.
(1) Assign unique detecting condition numbers to detecting sections and operations used in the
multimode, respectively.
(2) Change the mode from standard single mode to multimode.
(3) Assign the established detecting condition numbers to Areas 1 to 4 in the execution order.
For detecting condition number setting procedures, see Section 5.1.1, "Detecting condition number". For
more information about detection methods in the multimode, see the instruction manual attached to the
CSD-709-91.
5.2.1 Entering into the multimode [PF-03]
To change the detection under single condition to the detection based on the multimode, you should
set [1] to P function PF-03. Described below are setting procedures to enter multimode.
1. Press once to display .
2. Press twice to change the display to .
3. Press .
The P function mode is activated and the display changes to a two-digit numerical value prefixed
with [PF-].
4. Using and , change the numerical value to and press .
The currently setting appears.

5. Using , set [1] showing the multimode and press .
6. Press twice to return to Measurement mode.
