▼ Connection of external control input
The external control input circuit is classified into two types: no-voltage contact input type (standard)
and voltage input type (option).
The no-voltage contact input type circuit inputs signals by short-circuiting/opening the path between
the input and COM1 terminals. To conduct short-circuiting in this type, use contacts (e.g., relay and
switch) and contactless outputs (e.g., open collector output). Shown below is the equivalent circuit of
the no-voltage contact input type circuit.
CAUTION
When signals are input based on the open collector output, use the sink type (minus
common) for the connection.
The no-voltage contact input type external control input circuit features internal
power supply voltage of 12 VDC and short-circuit current of about 5 mA.
For the voltage input type circuit, see Attachment L, "External Control Voltage Input Type Circuit
(CSD-709-44)".
