DEPI – MPT Mode
Overview
APEX1000 release 2.4.x includes support for Modular CMTS. The APEX M-CMTS
architecture allows merging video delivery and high speed data applications, providing
support for services such as Voice Over- IP (VoIP), email, gaming, and video telephony.
DEPI Modes
There are two M-CMTS transmission modes:
• MPT – In this mode, the M-CMTS core performs transmission convergence and
generates the DOCSIS SYNC messages
• PSP – In this mode, the EQAM performs transmission convergence and generates
the DOCSIS SYNC messages
Note: Version 2.4.x only supports MPT mode. PSP flow mode will be supported in a
future version of the APEX1000.
