You can now lift up the column top cover and remove the steel cable block out of the
column. The steel cable is attached to the steel cable block.
Loosen the locking screw that holds the cross-bar in position in the steel cable block. Then
pull the cross-bar and steel cable out of the block.
You can now detach the steel cable by pulling it out from the bottom end.
NOTE
The steel cable cannot be pulled out from the column top as the opening in the column side
is too narrow for the steel cable ends to pass through.
