Reflected light pulse
The device operates according to the time-of-flight measurement principle. The device
emit
s very short light pulses (transmitted light pulse). while an “electronic stopwatch”
runs simultaneously. If the light strikes an object, the object reflects the light which is
then received by the safety laser scanner (received light pulse). The device calculates
the distance to the object based on the time interval between the moment of transmis‐
sion and moment of receipt (∆t).
