7.4 Communication according to PROFIdrive
7.4.1 General Information
Note
This chapter applies to several components of the SINAMICS drive family. These include the
SINAMICS DCP even though it is not a drive. There
fore, in this chapter, the terms "drive,"
"drive unit," or "drive system" always refer to the SINAMICS DCP.
PROFIdrive is the PROFIBUS and PROFINET profile for drive technology with a wide range
of applications in production and process automation systems.
PROFIdrive is independent of the bus system used (PROFIBUS, PROFINET).
