7.11.6 Voltage limitation
See function diagram 6812 in the SINAMICS DCP List Manual.
The SINAMICS DCP provides limit functions to protect the device and the connected
electrical sources and sinks such as the battery and DC link.
The following protection functions can be implemented using the voltage limiting function, for
example:
● Protection of the battery against overcharging
● Protection of the battery against overdischarging
● DC link overvoltage
● DC link undervoltage
Each limit is parameterized using a voltage value pair.
● Voltage value for the start of the limitation (current reduction) and
● Voltage value for full limiting, i.e. the current limit reaches the value 0 A.
For the voltage limiting, the internal resistance of the connected voltage sources is taken into
account - assuming that has been parameterized.
See parameters p55515, p55516, r55505, r55506, r55507, r55508.
7.11.7 Dynamic voltage limitation
See function diagram 6817 in the SINAMICS DCP List Manual.
The dynamic voltage limiting can be freely used for voltages on side 1 and side 2.
It acts on the reactor current in the closed-loop current and voltage control and also in the
precharging "pulsing up" mode.
7.11.8 Voltage control
See function diagrams 6818 and 6819 in the SINAMICS DCP List Manual.
The voltage controller controls either the voltage on side 1 or on side 2 to a definable
setpoint.
Properties of the voltage controller
● PI controller with droop (p54125, p54126, p54127), which outputs a reactor current
setpoint. The principle of operation of the droop function is described in Chapter
"Connecting several SINAMICS DCPs in parallel (Page 404)".
● Actual value selection (p54102, p54104):
Using the actual value selection, the side of the DCP where the voltage should be
controlled is defined.
For selection, in addition to the voltage actual values at the DCP connections on both
sides, in p54102 there are also the "internal" voltages, i.e. the calculated voltage after the
