7.22 Connecting several SINAMICS DCPs in parallel
See function diagram 9350 in the SINAMICS DCP List Manual.
General information
Several SINAMICS DCP can be connected in parallel to increase the current, respectively
the power rating; they can be connected in parallel on side 1, side 2 - or on both sides
simultaneously.
Controlling the main contactors and precharging circuits
In principle, when connecting the devices in parallel there are two options for controlling the
precharging circuits and main contactors on each side:
Common contactors/precharging circuits
The DCPs connected in parallel are connected to the voltage source on the relevant side
using a common main contactor.
Only a common precharging circuit is used on each side.
The main contactor as well as the precharging circuits must be dimensioned to handle
the loads made up of the devices connected in parallel.
The main contactor and the precharging circuit are controlled using one of the DCP
devices involved. However, each device must be protected with its own dedicated
overcurrent protection equipment.
