SINAMICS DCP

7.11.5 Current limitation and power limitation
See function diagram 6810 in the SINAMICS DCP List Manual.
The device code is limited, depending on various factors, to protect the power unit.
In addition to the electrical limits described here, ambient factors such as temperature and
installation altitude can result in the current and/or power being reduced (derating), see
Chapter "Derating (Page 357)".
The device can be operated with currents higher than the rated current when using the
"Dynamic overload capability" function. As a consequence, depending on the setting, also
the power can be increased (see Chapter "Dynamic overload capability (Page 329)").
Note
•
Of the listed limiting functions, the one with the lowest current limit is always active.
•
For SINAMICS DCP, the reactor current always corresponds to the current on the side
with the lower voltage.
•
The maximum device power is reduced when the device is operated in the overvoltage
range.
•
The overvoltage range of the individual device types is specified in Chapter "Device data
(Page 427)".
