7.4.2 Application classes
There are various application classes for PROFIdrive corresponding to the scope and type of
the application processes.
These application classes refer to drive technology and are therefore not suitable for
SINAMICS DCP.
7.4.3 Cyclic communication
Cyclic communication is used to exchange time-critical process data.
7.4.3.1 Telegrams and process data
For each drive object (CU_DCP, DCP_CTRL, TM15, TM31, TM150) of the SINAMICS DCP,
dedicated process data can be defined for sending or receiving.
From the perspective of the drive unit, the received process data represents the receive
words and the process data to be sent the send words.
The receive and send words comprise the following elements:
● Receive words: Control words or setpoints
● Send words: Status words or actual values
PROFIdrive telegrams
● Standard telegrams
Standard telegrams cannot be used with SINAMICS DCP.
● Manufacturer-specific telegrams
Manufacturer-specific telegrams cannot be used with SINAMICS DCP.
● Free telegrams (p0922 = 999)
The send and receive telegrams can be configured as required by using BICO technology
to interconnect the send and receive process data.
