SINAMICS DCP
Operating Instructions, 09/2019, A5E34382853K
41
The previous block diagram shows a (maximum) configuration for the SINAMICS DCP
together with possible interfaces to a higher level control system.
● Fuses: see Chapter "Components (Page 41)".
● Precharging (precharging interface: precharging resistors, precharging contactors,
precharging fuses): see Chapter "Precharging of the DC links (Page 351)".
● Main contactors: see Chapter "Components (Page 41)".
● The connections "from the previous DCP" and "to the next DCP" are only required if
several SINAMICS DCPs are connected in parallel and the parallel interface is used, see
Chapter "Connecting several SINAMICS DCPs in parallel (Page 404)".

Danger when using unsuitable components
Using unsuitable components can result in death or severe injury.
• Check the suitability of the recommended types and devices in the context of the
particular system or application - and if required make the appropriate adaptations.
Fuses
On side 1 and side 2 of the device, the P and N connections must be individually protected
using a DC fuse (see Figure 5-5 Block diagram with connection suggestion (Page 40)).
The fuse must be selected depending on the following parameters of the application:
● The expected short-circuit current
This defines the tripping characteristic and the nominal interruption capability of the fuse
required.
– Applications with low short-circuit currents, typically for PV applications: gPV
– Applications with a high short-circuit current: gR or aR
● Operating current
● DC rated voltage
