General information about communication
Communication with Modbus TCP uses the Ethernet/PROFINET interface:
X1400:
For Modbus TCP with a CUD via a CBE20.
The following applies for the CUD:
● the memory card (with the device firmware) must be inserted.
Note
Using the memory card
Information on
how to correctly use the memory card is provided in Chapter "Memory
(Page 158)".
It is especially important to
note that it is not permissible to insert the card when the
Drive object that can be addressed via Modbus
With Modbus TCP, you always address the first drive object from the list of drive objects
(p0978[0]). To access the DCP control, this parameter must therefore make reference to the
drive object, type "[17] DC_CTRL".
● However, Modbus TCP is only activated if, under p0978[0], there is a drive object that is
supported by Modbus TCP.
● If p0978[0] does not contain a valid drive object, then establishing communication is
acknowledged with alarm A08555(2).
Diagnostics LEDs in Modbus TCP
For Modbus TCP, diagnostic states are shown using the following LEDs:
X1400 (CBE20): "
OPT" LED
The following states can be displayed using these LEDs:
Green Continuous
Connections and setpoints are OK.
Connection is OK, but no setpoints (dependent on timeout).
Red Flashing light
No connection or setpoint timeout.
