7.8 Communication via EtherNet/IP (EIP)
SINAMICS DCP

Carry out the following steps to communicate with a higher-level control system via
EtherNet/IP:
1. Switch off the power supply voltage for the SINAMICS DCP.
Wait until all LEDs on the SINAMICS DCP are dark.
2. Insert the memory card with firmware version 1.2 or higher into the appropriate slot of the
CUD.
Note that the device configuration can be overwritten if the memory card already has a
parameterization file.

Using the memory card
Information on how to correctly use the memory card is provided in Chapter "
Memory
card functions
(Page 158)".
It is especially important to note that it is not permissible to insert the card when the
device is operational.
3. Switch on the SINAMICS DCP and wait for it to run up.
4. Using STARTER or the BOP, switch to drive object CU_DCP.
5. Activate the device configuration by setting p0009 = 1.
6. With p8835 = 4, set the firmware version "EtherNet/IP".
7. Set the IP address for the CBE20 using p8941.
The currently valid address is in r8951.
8. Set the subnet mask using p8943.
The currently valid subnet mask is in r8953.
9. Set the default gateway using p8942.
You can find the currently valid default gateway in r8952.
10.Set the station names using p8940.
You can find the currently valid station names in r8950.
This setting is not absolutely necessary for operation with EtherNet/IP; however, it can be
necessary in conjunction with DHCP.
11.Accept and activate the settings by setting p8945 = 2.
12.Complete the device configuration with p0009 = 0.
13.Save the data using command "Copy RAM to ROM".
14.Switch off the power supply voltage for the SINAMICS DCP.
Before you switch on again, wait until all LEDs on the SINAMICS DCP are dark.
15.Switch on the power supply for the SINAMICS DCP.
Your settings become active after the system has run up.
