Note
Different current controller structure in various firmware versions
As a result of the ongoing development and improvements made to the product, the current
controller s
tructure has changed between the firmware versions.
In firmwar
e version V1.1 a PI main current controller with additional PI differential current
controllers is used for the individual power units.
In firmware version V1.2, the main current controller was
expanded to include actual value
filtering in the in
tegral component. As a consequence, from this firmware version, other
values should be set for the proportional gain (p55220) and the integral time (p55221).
In firmware version V1.2, the factory settings
these two parameters was appropriately
adapted.
To
further im
prove the control response, from firmware version V1.2 HF1, each power unit is
controlled by its own dedicated PI current controller.
In addition, a setpoint delay was integrated for the integra
l component.
As a consequence, depending on the part
icular application, it may be necessary to reduce
the proportional gain of the current controller (p55220) to achieve a stable current control
response.
This current controller structure is also used in f
irmware version V1.3.
As a consequence, when using o
lder firmware versions the associated List Manuals,
function diagrams and parameter descriptions should be used.
Voltage control
In voltage-controlled operation, SINAMICS DCP receives the voltage setpoint via parameter
p54100, see function diagram 6818 in List Manual SINAMICS DCP.
The voltage on the side of the SINAMICS DCP - selected with p54102 and p54104 - is
controlled to this voltage setpoint. The voltage control is implemented as cascade control;
i.e. the voltage control specifies a current setpoint for the subordinate current control.
The statements made in the previous chapter apply to the current control.
The following diagram provides an overview of the controller structure.
To ensure transparency, a conscious decision has been made to not include all details.
For the individual function blocks, the corresponding detail function diagrams are
specified in the List Manual in square brackets.
The most important adjustable parameters are specified above the individual function
blocks.
