Operation
7.12 Precharging of the DC links
SINAMICS DCP
352 Operating Instructions, 09/2019, A5E34382853K
Note
If "Precharging using pulsing up" is used in one of the two prec
harging circuits, then the
precharging relay, the precharging resistors, the precharging contactors and pre
charging
fuses can be omitted on this side.
If one of the two sides of the DCP is permanently connected to the DC link of a line infeed
unit (e.g. SI
NAMICS Active Line Module), then it can be precharged together with the DC
link of this unit, and does not
require its own precharging.
In this case, the precharging circuit can be eliminated.
For this side of the DCP, resistance precharging must then be p
arameterized. In so doing,
the maximum permissible DC link capacitance of these devices must be taken into
careful
consideration.
In this case, wait times p55355 and p55356 on this side can be set to the lowest value.
WARNING
Fire and device damage as a result of ground fault/short-circuit
Inadequate installation of the cables to the precharging circuit of the SINAMICS DCP can
result in a ground fault/short-circuit and place persons at risk as a result of the associated
fire and smoke.
Comply with local installation regulations, which allow this fault to be ruled out.
Protect the cables from mechanical damage.
In addition, apply one of the following measures:
Using cables with double insulation.
Observe adequate clearances, e.g. through the use of spacers.
Route the cables in separate cable ducts or pipes.
