1.1 SINAMICS S120 Combi components
System components
● Line-side power components such as fuses and contactors to switch the energy supply
● Reactors and filters to maintain EMC regulations
● Motor Modules for 1 - 2 expansion axes, which operate as inverters and provide the
energy to the connected motors
● DC link components (Braking Module, Control Supply Module) used optionally for
stabilizing the DC link voltage
● Additional system components and encoder system connections to expand the
functionality and to handle various interfaces for encoders and process signals.
The SINAMICS S120 Combi is intended for installation in a control cabinet. It sets itself apart
as a result of the following properties:
● Easy to handle, simple installation and wiring
● Practical connection system, cable routing in accordance with EMC requirements
● Standardized design, seamless integration
Application and cooling method
The S120 Combi Power Module is optimized as a drive for machine tools and processing
machines with 3-6 axes. The Power Module is available with the "external air cooling"
cooling method.
Motor Modules in the booksize compact format are used as expansion axes.
