Battery acid contains dissolved sulphuric
acid. This is corrosive.
– When working with battery acid, use
appropriate PSA (rubber gloves,
apron, protection goggles).
– When working with battery acid, nev-
er wear a watch or jewellery.
– Do not allow any acid to get onto
clothing or skin or into the eyes. If this
does happen, rinse immediately with
plenty of clean water.
– In case of injury, seek medical advice
immediately.
– Immediately rinse away spilt battery
acid with plenty of water.
– Follow the statutory regulations.

Disposal of consumables
ENVIRONMENT NOTE
Materials that accumulate during repair, main-
tenance and cleaning must be collected prop-
erly and disposed of in accordance with the
national regulations for the country in which
the truck is being used. Work must only be
carried out in areas designated for that pur-
pose. Care must be taken to minimise any en-
vironmental pollution.
– Soak up any spilt fluids such as hydraulic oil
or gearbox oil immediately using an oil-
binding agent.
– Neutralise any spilt battery acid immediate-
ly.
– Always observe national regulations con-
cerning the disposal of used oil.
