4. Close the Calibration configuration dialog when SPC has completed.
If the SPC fails, write down any error message text. Make sure that all probes and cables are disconnected and run the SPC again. If
the SPC still fails, contact T
ektronix Customer Support.
Compensate the probe
Probe compensation adjusts the high frequency response of a probe for best waveform capture and measurement accuracy. Use this
procedure to adjust probe compensation for probes with a manual adjustment.
The following procedure checks the probe compensation.
1. Connect a supported probe to Channel 1.
2. Connect the probe tip and ground lead of the probe to the PROBE COMP terminals. Connect only one probe at a time to the PROBE
COMP terminals.
3. T
urn on the Channel 1 and turn off all other channels.
4. Tap File > Default Setup.
5. Push the Autoset button on the front-panel or tap File > Autoset from the menu bar. The screen should display a square wave with
the levels between approximately 0 V - 2.5 V and 1 kHz.
6. Check the shape of the displayed waveform to determine if the probe needs adjusted. If the waveform has a square leading edge and
a flat top and bottom, the probe does not need adjusted. If the waveform leading edge is rounded or has a spike, you need to adjust
the probe compensation.
