Trigger on a setup-hold event
Use the Setup & Hold trigger to trigger on a waveform when a data signal changes state inside of a specified setup and hold time, relative
to a clock edge.
T
o trigger on a Setup/Hold event:
1. Double-tap the Trigger badge to open the Trigger configuration menu.
2. Tap Trigger Type and select Setup & Hold. See Setup and Hold Trigger configuration menu on page 218.
3. Tap Clock Source and select the signal to use as the clock.
4. Tap the Clock Level field and set the threshold level that the clock signal must pass through to be considered a valid transition. The
clock threshold value is independent of the input signal threshold(s).
5. Use Clock Edge to set which clock signal edge to use to start the trigger evaluation.
6. Tap Define Inputs and use the Define Inputs menu to set the signal input sources and their threshold levels. See Setup and Hold
Trigger - Define Inputs configuration menu on page 219.
7. Tap the Setup Time field and set the length of setup time that the data signal must be stable before a clock edge occurs.
8. Tap the Hold Time field and set the length of hold time that the data signal must be stable after a clock edge occurs.
Trigger on a rise or fall time event
Use the Rise/Fall T
ime trigger to trigger when the rise or fall time of a signal is less than, greater than, equal to, or not equal to a specified
time limit
To trigger on a Rise/Fall event:
1. Double-tap the Trigger badge to open the Trigger configuration menu.
2. Tap Trigger Type and select Rise/Fall. See Rise/Fall Time Trigger configuration menu on page 219.
3. Tap Source and select the trigger signal source.
4. Tap Trigger When and select the condition on which to trigger.
