user-identifiable information, waveform data, analysis results or screen shots.
Connected Oscilloscope preferences
Use the Connected Oscilloscope preferences to make you more ef
ficient and improve the overall user experience while using the
oscilloscope (2 Series MSO).
When enabled it provides additional capabilities which improves the overall experience while using the oscilloscope. Whenever the status
of checkbox changes it is shared with Tektronix.
Note: Enabling this checkbox does not send any information that is used to identify a specific company or individual.
Tektronix will not send any information to the oscilloscope unless you enable Oscilloscope tracks feature usage to help reproduce and
fix software bugs. User identifiable information, waveform data, analysis results or screenshots are never saved.
When this option is enabled, the oscilloscope will record information about the instrument and its usage. The information includes actions
taken in the user or programming interfaces, the model number of the scope, its firmware version, and information about installed options
or probe attachments. This information does not include anything that is used to identify a specific company or individual.
This information is stored in a text file on the instrument and is viewed with any text viewing program. Disabling this feature will delete the
file. If the instrument is connected to a network while this feature is enabled, this information will be periodically sent to T
ektronix.
By enabling this option you agree that the software records anonymous information about the usage of this instrument, and periodically
send it to Tektronix.
Tap Legalese to view legal information within the legal framework.
Tap Save Preferences will save the selected preferences.
Tap Cancel to discard the changes.

Tap the Legalese button to view the legal information and details of the functionalities enabled when you check the boxes in the previous
dialog (Connected Scope Preferences).
To open the Legalese dialog, select Utility > User Preferences > Other > Connected Scope Preferences > Legalese.
Enabled Connected Scope
When the check box is enabled in Connected Scope Preferences dialog: You agree that the software may contact Tektronix servers
periodically. You also agree that the instruments model and serial number and status of the enabled check boxes will be sent to Tektronix.
