Mechanical errors
Problem
Potential reason
Solution
Backing tape rips
Label roll is damaged:
- Indentations in the label
liner.
- Pressure marks or dam-
age to the label roll side.
- The paper width varies
greatly.
Replace label roll.
Label web is inserted incor-
rectly
Insert label liner correctly
Adhesive residues in the area
of the peeler plate
Remove the adhesive residues
and examine the label roll for
damages that could have been
caused by the accumulation of
adhesives. Otherwise replace
the roller if necessary.
Rewinder does not work.
Dancer arm remains un-
changed and cannot switch.
Turn the winder axle until the
carrier paper is pulled tightly
and the dancer arm has left its
idle position.
Inaccurate label positioning on
the product.
The product is not yet or no
longer in the correct labeling
position.
Check the sensors of the con-
veying system used for the
identification of products.
Product sensor (or reflector)
is loose or vibrating.
Check the sensors and reattach
if necessary
(applies only to applications
without rotary encoder)
Changing speed of the con-
veyor technology (e.g. load-
dependent)
Measure and log the speed.
Contact the supplier of the con-
veyor system
Slippage due to dirt or wear
Clean the drive rollers and
check them for wear. If neces-
sary, change or request service
technician via hotline (see
page9).
Label with unsuitable adhe-
sive, insufficient initial adhe-
sion force.
Switch the label quality.
Incorrect parameterization
Check the configuration param-
eters for ramp values, thereby
taking into account the influ-
ence of the label length on the
feed rate, or request the service
technician via the hotline (see
page9).
Inaccurate label stop position
(to peeler plate).
High label speed or high
start/stop ramps (> G2) at a
low “label position” value.
Change the position of the label
sensor to obtain a higher value
for the "label position".
Reducing the start/stop ramp
values or the label speed.
Label sensor is dirty.
Clean the label sensor.
