5 AC 800F Functional Description
5-35
With configured redundancy link (i.e. coding switch on Ethernet module in slot 2 its in
F position):
First Network interface [00:C0:C9:10:00:88] - Cheapernet
- IP address: 172.16.1.1
- Subnet mask: 255.255.240.0
Second Network interface [00:C0:C9:10:1E:EB] - Cheapernet as RedLink
Only if the coding switch of at least one Ethernet module is set to 0 (special case,
expanded network configuration), the Default Router line will appear. The example
above shows a AC 800F with two 10Base2 modules EI 801F. The following line is
indicated if slot E1 or E2 is empty:
First Network interface not available
or
Second Network interface not available
A TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) test is performed for every Ethernet module
plugged in a slot. If the message
Error: Controller or other network problem
appears, in most cases the module has not been connected properly to the Ethernet
cabling.
The message
Error: Open Line 3 clocks away
indicates a problem with the bus setup, for example a 10Base2 link without a
terminating resistor.
If the message
Error: Short Line 5 clocks away
appears, there is a short-circuit in the transmission path.
If you confirm the message within the waiting time by pressing the space key, the
following message pops up:
<C>hange, set <T>ime, <S>ave or continue <B>ooting?
The system configuration parameters listed below can be changed under menu item
<C>hange:
IP address (with extended network configuration only)
Behavior of the Boot Loader after operating system call
Baud rate of diagnostic interface
Boot Loader waiting time before configuration block startup.
