13 Glossary
*) Component of the Freelance 2000 System 13-7
Engineering station *
)
PC or laptop with MS Windows NT and Control Builder F software. Used
by the Freelance 2000 system operator for configuration, commissioning,
and documentation.
Ethernet Serial bus system to DIN/ISO 8802, Part 3 (IEEE 802.3).
Ethernet board PC plug-in board for connecting engineering station and operator station
to Ethernet system bus. Built in the PC central unit. Provided with an AUI
connector and a BNC jack for connecting 10Base2 network cables.
Ethernet module The Ethernet modules provide for communication with a supervisory
system, e.g. the Freelance 2000 system.
he following module are under development: 10/100BaseTx module for
connecting twisted-pair cables, and 10/100BaseFL module for direct
onnection of fiber-optic cables. These module will allow for
communication with fieldbuses based on the Ethernet standard.
→ 10Base2 modules, →AUI modules
Extra low voltage with protective separation from other circuits which may be earthed (PELV)
according to IEC 364-4-41:1991.
-F-
Failure (LED) Indicates hardware and software errors of the AC 800F.
FF/HSE-Modul FI 840F Fieldbus link for linking local peripherals, based on the Fieldbus-
Foundation High-Speed Ethernet Standard.
FF/HSE Link The lower, green LED on the RJ45 connector of the FF/HSE module,
indicating the link state:
• Off No active link, neither 10Mbit nor 100 Mbit. No
communication possible.
• Green static Active link. Communication possible, but currently no
data traffic.
• Green flashing Active link. Communication is possible
FF/HSE Speed The the upper, yellow LED on the RJ45 connector of the FF/HSE
module, indicating the the transmission rate::
• Off The module has recognized a 10 Mbit/s data link.
• Yellow static The module has recognized a 100 Mbit/s data link.
Fiber optic cable
→ 10BaseFL network cable
Fieldbus module The AC 800F fieldbus modules are driven via the CPU board in the
AC 800F housing.
The data transferred by the fieldbus modules is processed according to
the configured link modules and then transmitted to the operator station
via the Ethernet modules and the system bus. The processing results are
output via the fieldbus modules an then transmitted to the fieldbus
devices. → FF/HSE module FI 830F, → Profibus module FI 830F,
