3.1 - AlinIQ CWi - Customization Workspace for
i-STAT
This secon contains a general descripon of the CWi (Customizaon Workspace for i‑STAT). i‑STAT
Alinity instruments can be customized for use in a variety of healthcare sengs. Abbo Point of Care
recommends that you read this document in its enrety before logging in to CWi. Specics on the
funcons and features are outlined in the following secons.
CWi is a web-based soware applicaon that enables healthcare professionals to manage customizaon
sengs for the i‑STAT Alinity instrument. Customizaon sengs allow the HCO to change the user
experience at the individual instrument level. CWi also manages users that maintain the customizaon of
the i
‑STAT Alinity.
Out-of-the-box, the i‑STAT Alinity is a fully-funconing instrument whose workow contains no
customizaon. Customizaon allows the healthcare organizaon to change the operang characteriscs
of each instrument. For example, the instrument, out-of-the-box, has no reference ranges dened. To
dene these ranges and upload them to the instrument(s), a prole must be created.
A prole is a collecon of customizaon opons found in categories. Each instrument within a healthcare
organizaon (HCO) can have a dierent prole. The specics of the prole are determined by the needs
of the operang locaon. As an example, for an instrument used in the NICU it may be necessary to turn
o the instrument's sound to avoid disturbing the infants or to prompt operators to perform required
quality control tesng.
Customizaon also enables the administrator or POCC to establish acon ranges based on a variety of
age ranges. In
addion, an administrator or POCC may establish acons to be taken when results fall
outside of the reference range. Customizaon may be used to require operators to record crical
callback documentaon on the instrument.
Workspaces
CWi is a collecon of three workspaces. The workspaces are:
Manage and Assemble Proles
Use this workspace to dene the instrument's sengs for opons such as data entry format,
inacvity me interval allowed before powering o, and acon to take when the memory is full.
Most of the customizaon of the i‑STAT Alinity is accomplished using the opons in the Prole
workspace.
Manage Users
In this workspace create a list of CWi users, their contact informaon, and their CWi role (POCC,
POC Super User, HCO Manager).
Manage Healthcare
Organizaon
This workspace displays the name of the customer's healthcare organizaon.
