1.13 - Soware Updates
Soware updates to the i-STAT Alinity instrument are delivered twice a year. Each soware update
contains two elements in a single package: CLEW soware and applicaon soware. These updates may
be downloaded and installed in one of three ways:
1. USB memory device via Base Staon
2. Abbo Managed Server
3. AlinIQ SDi

being executed by unauthorized personnel.

Base Staon
Use this procedure to update the instrument soware via USB memory device.

e: This procedure takes approximately 5 to 15 minutes to complete. Therefore, it is recommended
this procedure be executed outside of the clinical work area.

• i‑STAT Alinity instrument(s) to be updated
• Base Staon with power cable connected to AC mains power
• Formaed USB memory device
• PC with network connecon to the Abbo Point of Care website hps://

Before aempng to update soware from USB, prepare a USB memory device using the following
steps:
1. Obtain a FAT32 formaed USB 2.0 memory device

2. Remove any package les (.apkg le extension) from the top level of the directory structure of the
memory device.
3. Retrieve the i‑STAT Alinity instrument soware package from the Abbo Point of Care website
hps://www.globalpointofcare.abbo/en/support/istat-brand/istat-alinity.html
4. Copy the soware package to the memory device
5. Safely remove the memory device from your PC
Before aempng to update instrument soware from USB, ensure the following:
1. The instrument is placed in the powered Base Staon.
