1.4 - i-STAT Alinity Rechargeable Baery
Overview
This Lithium-Ion rechargeable baery is designed for use only with the iSTAT Alinity instrument. When
aached to the instrument, it is the power source for all funconality. Thumb tabs on either side of the
baery enable easy removal and replacement of the baery on the instrument.
For instrucons on using the baery, refer to the iSTAT Alinity Rechargeable Baery Geng Started
Guide.
Descripon
The rechargeable baery allows the instrument to perform tesng. The baery recharges when it is
aached to the instrument and docked in a powered Base Staon. An indicator on the upper right hand
side of the instrument screen indicates the baery level. Tesng is disabled when the baery level is
insucient to perform a cartridge test. An alert displays when the baery level approaches the level at
which tesng is disabled. Instrucons for aaching the baery are found in the iSTAT Alinity
Rechargeable Baery Geng Started Guide. For a full list of all baery icons available for display on the
instrument, see the Quick Reference Guide.
Principles of Operaon
The baery pack contains a Lithium-Ion rechargeable baery cell and electronics for charging and fuel
gauge funconality. The fuel gauge predicts the baery capacity while also providing protecon against
short circuit, over current and over voltage. The baery pack and Base Staon are designed to allow for
the baery to be charged without detaching from the instrument.
