Allocate a New Waveform Label
Sometimes you may wish to calculate the required size.
A captured waveform can be processed by software on the
workstation before results are calculated. Available functions are
averaging and discard per point or per waveform. These
function reduce the actual number of samples.
Therefore, if these functions are going to be used, the digitizer
must capture more samples than finally will be used for the result
calculation. The required number of samples to be taken and the
resulting waveform memory size can be calculated by clicking
SW AVG/DISC. This brings up the following window.
1 Type the name. Use only characters A to Z, a to z, 0 to 9,
and underscore (no spaces).
2 Enter the Size. This is the number data points that can be stored in the
array.
You can:
– Type a number.
– Select sizes of 2
n
from browser.
– Calculate the required size, if the captured waveform shall be
processed by software before calculating results.
3 Click OK.
