How to Set the Operation and Output Values
Parameters
Whichever waveform generation tool you have chosen, each of
them will ask you how to interpret and what to do with the new
waveform:
Operation and Output Value Settings
To specify the use of the new waveform:
1 Choose NEW to replace the previously generated waveform by the
new waveform
– or –
click
APPEND to append the new waveform to the previously
generated waveform
– or –
choose
MATH to combine the previously generated waveform with
the new waveform.
The math operation (add, subtract, multiply, or divide) can start
at zero or at any other point position (entered in the P
OS field) of
the previously generated waveform.
The O
UTPUT VALUES setting refers to the final waveform, that
means after any mathematical operation.
To specify the data format:
1 Choose FLOAT for a waveform that shall be sent to an AWG (e.g. for
testing an ADC or buffer)
– or –
choose
INT or FLOAT for a waveform that shall be sent to vector
memory (e.g. for testing a DAC).
