Lesson 3 – Introduction to the Software

 • Waveform modifications for special applications are supported,
for example, jitter modulation and simulation of the effect of a
cable on the signal.
Mixed-Signal Tool - Waveform Generation
The generated waveform can be downloaded to the waveform
memory of an AWG, or to the vector memory of digital pins.
Waveforms resulting from mixed-signal tests can be viewed and
analyzed with the Mixed-Signal Tool. To do this, the tool provides
various features:
 • Display of multiple waveforms
Up to three waveforms from different locations, e.g. generated
waveforms, and calculated waveforms like FFT or DNL, can be
displayed.
 • Automatic real-time update
To display result waveforms during test execution. Used for
debugging.
 • Overlay mode
Allows you to overlay waveforms. This makes it easy to spot
changes as a result of setup changes.
 • Zoom, scaling and making measurements
Standard zooming, setting markers, measuring marker distances,
and scaling features are build in.
 • Tools to perform signal harmonics and distortion analysis.
Supports the analysis of result waveform characteristics.
