Cable and Antenna Measurements 3-3 Overview
Why Measure?
The basic goal of a wireless communication system is to transfer the
maximum amount of RF energy to achieve coverage (Figure 3-3).
Wireless communication systems require good integration of all
components from the ground to the antenna. Problems such as dented
shielding, bad connectors, water ingress, or over torque will cause a
mismatch and reflect power.
Note
The Site Master does not measure system linearity
(PIM Testing). Anritsu also sells the PIM Master available
in several carrier bands that does test for passive
intermodulation.
