BroadcastSSID SpecifywhethertoallowtheAPtobr oadcasttheServiceSetIdentifier(SSID)inits
beaconframes.TheBroadcastSSIDparameterisenabledbydefault.WhentheVAPdoes
notbroadcastitsSSID,thenetworknameisnotdisplayedinthelistofavailablenetworks
onaclientstation.
Instead,theclientmusthavetheexactnetworknameconfiguredin
thesupplicantbeforeitisabletoconnect.
•ToenabletheSSIDbroadcast,selecttheBroadcastSSIDcheckbox.
•ToprohibittheSSIDbroadcast,cleartheBroadcastSSIDcheckbox.
Note:DisablingthebroadcastSSIDissufficienttoprev entclientsfrom
accidentally
connectingtoyournetwork,butitwillnotpreventeventhesim plestofattemptsbya
hackertoconnectormonitorunencryptedtraffic.SuppressingtheSSIDbroadcastoffers
averyminimallevelofpr otectiononanotherwiseexposednetwork(suchasaguest
network)wherethepriorityismaking
iteasyforclientstogetaconnectionandwhere
nosensitiveinformationisavailable.

network.Thedrop‐downmenuforthisfeatureallowsyoutoselectthetypeofMAC

•Local:UsetheMACAuth enticationlistthatyouconfigureontheMACAuthentication
page.
•RADIUS:UsetheMACAuthenticationlistontheexternalRADIUSserver.

RedirectMode EnabletheHTTPredirectfeaturetoredirectwirelessclients
toacustomWebpage.
Whenredirectmodeisenabled,theuserwillberedirectedtotheURLyouspecifyafter
thewirelessclientassociateswithanAPandtheuseropensaWebbrowserontheclient
toaccesstheInternet.
ThecustomWebpagemustbelocatedonan
externalWebserverandmightcontain
informationsuchasthecompanylogoandnetworkusagepolicy.

associatedwiththeAP.
