Other characteristics of the ECLIPSE MV17800 COMSWITCH-II are:
1.
MV/7800
comswrrcH-11
hardware resides on the MV/7800 system board and performs the
functions of the DRP: MV/7800 power-up diagnostic testing, host monitor/error reporting, executes the
system control program (SCP-CLI) and provides interface via the APL menu for changing system
parameters (date/time, auto boot device).
2.
MV/7800 COMSWITCH-II firmware is an extension on the SCP-CLI PROM code. From the System
console, the operator must be in the SCP-CLI before any COMSWITCH-II <BREAK>CMDS become
available. If the System console is in TrY mode and the operator wishes to execute a COMSWITCH-II
command, then the operator must hit <CMD><BREAK> or <BREAK> to enter the SCP-CLI. The
<BREAK> from TrY mode always means enter the SCP-CLI, and <BREAK> from the SCP-CLI is
always taken as a precursor for COMSWITCH-II commands. <BREAK> is always taken as a
COMSWITCH-II precursor at the Remote terminal regardless of the mode.
3.
If User mode is configured and System operator hits <BREAK> at System console to enter the
SCP-CLI, then the Remote terminal will receive the message:
terminating User mode. This difference also is caused due to a hardware limitation.
4.
<BREAIC>V configuration view change: All information is displayed in the same format as in the original
command. Since this is not a portable box which must be configured to many different electrical
interfaces, the configuration data is fixed and displayed here mainly for help purposes. IAC Baud rate is
the only configuration option. The modem has only one Baud rate (1200) and the System console Baud
rate is selected by the system board switches. (Never select system console Baud rate less than that of
the modem - 1200)
5.
comswrrcH-II
firmware is not operational until the system microcode has been booted. If the
MV/7800 does not display the text:
