Motor overspeed protection
The motor overspeed protection function is a mechanism to react to counting errors in the
case of pure incremental encoders. The function monitors the drive for "uncontrolled
movements".
Depending on the operating mode, the motor overspeed protection function is realised by
way of different mechanisms:
Operating mode Mechanism
Torque control Comparison with the current actual speed value, as no reasonable
speed setpoint has been provided.
Speed control
Positioning
Comparison with the difference between the set speed value and
actual speed value.
Mix-up of parameter
The parameter is not identical with the motor overspeed protection function that can be
accessed via the menu Parameters/Safety parameters...
