Plugging in the monitor output
Voltages proportional to the inputs from the strain-gage-based transducer, such as the load cell or
pressure sensor, can be picked up in the form of monitor output. The monitor output can be used
when you want to observe or record waveforms with a recorder. The monitor output will take any of
the values shown below depending on the excitation voltage input to the strain-gage-based
transducer. (Note that the monitor output is a voltage per 1 mV/V of input signal.)
Excitation voltage Monitor output
2.5 VDC Approx. 0.5 V
5 VDC Approx. 1 V
10 VDC Approx. 2 V
CAUTION
The monitor output voltage is picked up before the input signal from the
strain-gage-based transducer is AD-converted. Therefore, the monitor output does
not link with the displayed value processed with the digital filter. When you need a
voltage or current output that links with the displayed value, use the optional voltage
output card or current output card.
For excitation voltage setting procedures, see Section 2.3, "Setting the excitation voltage".
Plug in monitor output signal cables to the [+] and [-] terminals of the strain-gage-based transducer
connector using the same procedures designed for the signal cables of the strain-gage-based
transducer. For more information, see Section 2.2.1, "Plugging in the strain-gage-based transducer
connector".
