13.1 Overview of Communication Function
The GM1 controller allows general-purpose communication, Modbus communication, and
EtherNet/IP communication with external devices via COM and LAN ports.
The following table shows the functions supported by each port.

13.1.1 Adding Network Communication Devices
Add a communication device object to the device object of a LAN port.
For example, use the following procedure to add "ModbusTCP Slave Device" to LAN port 1.
1. Right-click the
"LANPort1" object in the navigator pane and then select "Add Device" from
the context-sensitive menu that is displayed.
The "Add Device" dialog box will be displayed.
