3.Troubleshooting: Paper Delivery Problems

The temperature and humidity of the paper tray is checked in the following SP.
SP3-261-001(Temp/Humid (Body): Temperature)
SP3-261-002(Temp/Humid (Body): Relative Humidity)
SP3-261-003(Temp/Humid (Body): Absolute Humidity)
When using thick paper or slippery paper.
Enable the Pickup Assist setting.
 <If custom paper is not used>
In "Adjustment Settings for Operators", set No. 0303 "Pickup Assist Setting" to "On".
 <If custom paper is used>
In "Custom Paper Settings (IMSS)", set No. 1312 "Pickup Assist Setting" to "On".
The paper feed sensor is stained with paper dust.
Clean the part of the paper feed sensor where the paper misfeed is detected.
The paper feed performance is less sufficient because the paper transport roller is soiled
with toner.
Clean the part of the paper transport roller where the paper misfeed is detected.
The transfer timing motor is not operating correctly (also applies to when paper is fed from
LCIT).
A paper jam related to the transfer timing sensor (JAM31, JAM80) occurs frequently.
A paper jam related to the registration timing sensor (JAM28, JAM29, and JAM80) occurs frequently.
 Check for any loose/disconnected harnesses.
 Check that the encoder is correctly attached to the transfer timing roller.
 Check for anything which is exerting load on the transfer timing roller.
 If none of the above problems exists, there is a malfunction of the transfer timing motor or transfer
timing motor driver. Replace the malfunctioning unit.
Accuracy" is selected for the transfer timing sensor for printing on paper other than white.
If JAM31 occurs frequently on paper other than white, change No. 1101-19 "Image Position: Setting"
from "High Accuracy" to "Normal" in the Custom Paper Setting.
No Feeding (Poor-Quality Paper): Main Machine Paper Feed
When poor-quality paper is used, the surface of the feed roller slips on the paper, resulting in a no
feeding jam. As the countermeasure for no feeding of poor-quality paper, the machine's paper tray has
separation pressure of the separation roller [A].
