10.Image Quality Problem: Spots

For the replacement procedures of the charge roller or charger unit, refer to Chapter 4
“Replacement and Adjustment” in the field service manual.
Do not use ethanol or other organic solvents when wiping the charge roller. Using such
solvents may damage the roller.
After taking the above measures, do the color calibration adjustment of the DFE.
Black (color) Spots (2)
There is toner dirt in the small speck form of 0.5 mm to 1 mm.
[A]: Toner specks (about 0.5mm to 1mm)
[B]: Toner trails
Cause
This problem is caused when toner which slips through the cleaning web for the pressure roller is
transferred to paper again.
This is likely to occur if:
Printing on non-coated paper (particularly paper with low smoothness)
Printing halftone images, or printing after halftone image printing
Printing after a multiple printing job on small-sized paper
