Trailing Edge Dirty at 20 mm Intervals

Cause
When the fuser unit speed is faster than the paper transfer unit speed, the trailing edge of the image
brushes the rib on the topside (the ITB cleaning unit) of the transfer paper path, and dirt attaches to the
paper.
Solution
Solution 1
1. Execute No. 0512-01 "Fuser Unit Speed Adjustment" in the Adjustment Settings for Operators
menu.
Solution 2
1. Register the problem paper brand in the “Custom Paper Settings” if it is not registered.
2. Set No. 1244-01 "Fusing Pressure Roller On Before Fusing" to "ON".
Dirty Background
The charging of developer decreases, thus causing toner residue like streaks or scattered dots on the
background.
