5.1.10 ... problems occur when reading a barcode?
If tube barcodes are not recognized, a number of causes are possible:
• The tube is misaligned.
• The label is not readable (defective, crumpled or too slanted).
• The default position of the tube in relation to the barcode scanner is not reached
correctly. This error occurs often.
• The barcode scanner is dirty or defective. This error occurs often.
Recommended procedure for sporadic barcode read errors
Check the label on the tube which has not been recognized for a correct placement and
application.
Recommended procedure for reoccurring barcode read errors on multiple tubes
1. The barcode scanner is soiled. Clean the barcode scanner.
2. There is a positioning error of the transport system. Proceed as follows:
a. Turn the system off ([Logout] and [Shutdown]).
b. Remove obstacle or soiling.
c. Turn system on.
d. Restart work cycle.
3. If the problem is caused by a positioning error of the stepper motor or if the barcode
scanner is heavily soiled or defective, notify a service technician.
