2.2.12 Recapping module (optional)
The Recapping module in the output sorter is capable of sealing opened primary tubes with
an aluminum foil. The tubes are thus prepared for archiving.

Sealing unit
The Recapping module is equipped with a foil transport and a sealing unit.
Different plastic tubes (with diameters from 11.6 mm up to 15.6 mm and heights from
75 mm up to 100 mm) can be sealed with special aluminum foils. Glass tubes cannot be
sealed for technical reasons.
The Recapping module uses the tube parameters from the camera system in the tube
recognition. The Recapping module is therefore able to seal sample tubes of different heights.
