1.5.6 Laser exposure
The liquid level detection with laser (Laser-LLD) can be integrated into the sorting system of
cobas p 512 . The Laser-LLD is a computer controlled system designed to detect the liquid
level of centrifuged serum or plasma and urine samples. The module is equipped with an
class 3B laser beam. To avoid potentially dangerous situations, you should work inside the
system (input sorter), for example cleaning or troubleshooting , with switched off system or
you must wear protective goggles.
WARNING
LASER Exposure Warning
LASER light can be potentially hazardous to the eyes. To rule out any risk,
always switch the system off at the main switch and disconnect the mains cable
prior to commencing work on the LASER-LLD! An exception exists for
particular service or work. In this case, you must wear protective goggles to
protect your eyes from the laser light!
