Performing a measurement
Performing a measurement
To ensure the validity of the measurement system, Roche recommends performing
an electronic control measurement before the first measurement of a shift or in
accordance with local standards.
u For details, see Electronic control m easurements (p. 138).
If the analyzer is not already started, switch on the analyzer and wait for the system to
reach the appropriate temperature indicated in the status bar.
u For details, see Starting the analyzer (p. 102).
Performing measurements using the worklist
Use the worklist to download orders from the LIS and process them. When using the
worklist all pipettings are done with the electronic pipette.
Pre-analytical sample handling Allow a standby time of at least 30 or 60 minutes (depending on reagent and sample
tube type) after collection when analyzing whole blood samples. If whole blood
samples are analyzed earlier, low result recovery may occur.
u For correct standby time, refer to the package insert.
Make sure to swivel the tube with whole blood gently before pipetting the sample, to
avoid that blood cells are settling down in the tube.
