1. Clean starter reduction gear assy. (1).
2. Inspect the gear wheels (2) for wear.
3. Inspect the operation of the starter reduction gear assy.

INSPECTION OF THE ELECTRIC STARTER
General
NNOOTTEE
If the electric starter is malfunctioning, the cause is generally that the two carbon
brushes are worn or defective. In this case all parts in the electric starter repair kit
must be renewed.
Instructions See Figure: Electric starter
1. Check starter cable (1).
NNOOTTEE
If the starter cable is faulty, the starter cable assy. can be replaced.
2. Inspect parts of the electric starter.
3. Check teeth (2) for deformation and wear.
