SERVICE POINTS
Sheave drum removal
1. Rotate:
9 Sheave drum
Turn the sheave drum clockwise until
the spring is free.
NOTE:
9 Turn the sheave drum so that the cutaway
on the outer surface of the sheave drum
faces towards the starter handle.
9 Pass the starter rope through the cut-
away.
2. Remove:
9 Drive plate
9 Sheave drum

8When removing the drive plate and
sheave drum, be sure to turn the sheave
drum upside down to prevent the spiral
spring from popping up at you.
8Do not leave the sheave drum removed.
The spiral spring may pop out.
Spiral spring removal
1. Remove:
9 Spiral spring 1
w
Be careful because the spiral spring may
pop out during removal. Remove it by let-
ting it out one turn of the winding each
time.
