1. Remove:
9 Spark plug
2. Check:
9 Spark plug type
3. Inspect:
9 Electrodes 1
Cracks/excessive wear → Replace.
9 Insulator color 2
Distinctly different color → Check the
engine condition.
4. Clean:
9 Spark plugs
(with a spark plug cleaner or wire
brush)
5. Measure:
9Spark plug gap a
(with a wire gauge)
Out of specification → Regap.
6. Tighten:
9Spark plugs
Color guide:
Medium to light tan color:
Normal
Whitish color:
8 Lean fuel mixture
8 Plugged jet(s)
8 Wrong setting
Blackish color:
8 Rich mixture
8 Defective ignition system
8 Excessive idling
8 Wrong spark plug
Spark plug gap:
0.9 mm (0.04 in)
Spark plug:
18 Nm (1.8 m•kg, 13 ft•lb)
